The Prince of Theives is, hands down, the best book I have read personally. I absolutely love it. I’ve read it twice. Because I love this book so much I was pissed at things the movie doesn’t touch on. I wish they would have showed more of the hostility that Doug has for Jem and how tired of it all he really is. I know they had to include the sex scene between Doug and Krista but when you read the book you know Doug would never have done that bc he was so done with her…some scenes in the movie were done almost exactly as the book and I appreciated those more than the changes that took place. The movie is good. Really good. But because I love the book so much it’s hard for me to really enjoy it. The ending drives me crazy in the movie bc it’s just so real that Doug dies. Especially when he downs those beers, it’s a foreshadowing to his fate.
